RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT LISTS

All items should be packed within a backpack or duffle bag or attached

Pack all clothing in plastic ziplock style bags to keep dry and organized and label all items with the scout’s name and ideally his troop number too

No lighters or matches should be brought to camp – they will be confiscated as well as aerosol sprays

Individual Scout Equipment

___  Full Scout Class A uniform

___ Troop T-shirt / sweatshirt

___ Sneakers and/or Hiking Boots – No open toed shoes allowed in camp

___ Aqua shoes/sandals (allowed at waterfront and in showers only)

___ Underwear (6 pairs)

___ Extra Clothing (t-shirts/shorts/pants) T-shirts should be scout related or plain

___ Sleeping clothes

___ Scout Cap or hat

___ Socks (6 or more pairs)

___ Jacket or sweatshirt

___ Swim trunks (recommend 2)

___ Rain Gear (have at least a rain poncho or waterproof jacket)

___ Flashlight or battery operated lantern w/extra batteries

___ Sleeping bag or 2 sheets and blanket and pillow

___ Single bed topsheet (recommended for hot nights)

___ Sleeping pad for cot (optional but recommended)

___ Pack, footlocker or utility bin for small gear storage (a plastic storage box appx 15”x10”x6” is good)

___ 1 to 2 hangers to hang Class A shirt, damp towels dry

___ Scout Handbook

___ Pen/Pencils and paper

___ Spending money ($50.00-$60.00 recommended – in envelope(s) with name on it)

___ Daypack/ knapsack/string bag

___ Hand Towel / Bath Towel / Wash Cloth / Swim towel

___ Toiletries – Soap / shampoo / deodorant / toothbrush / toothpaste / brush or comb

___ Canteen or Water Bottle and a hook/carabineer to secure it

___ Plastic bag for laundry

___ All perquisite work done for merit badges

___ Compass (if doing Orienteering) or GPS optional for Geocaching

___ Prescription / OTC medications if needed (you may want to send Tylenol/Motrin for “as needed”)

___ Bug repellent (non-aerosol only)

___ Sunscreen (non-aerosol only)

___ Clothesline or paracord, clothes pins

Participants in any waterfront program

___ Water shoes or an old pair of sneakers to wear in the boat that can get wet.

___  Old long pants,long-sleeved button-down shirt, shoes. [Scouts taking waterfront merit badges (Lifesaving, Rowing or Canoeing)]


BROWN SEA/PATHFINDER/TRAILBLAZER PROGRAM – (First Year Scouts)
